Ford and Volkswagen announced an alliance to cut costs but also to fight back against Google & Co.

Autonomous Vehicles, Mobility Services, e-Cars, … all topics which are disrupting the automotive industry. Will there still be car brands in the future, or just autonomous vehicles provided by a global service company (maybe Google)? Will humans still buy cars selecting from different brands and models, or will they just ask their smartphone to be taken from A to B without caring about the vehicles brand?
Looks as if the big automotive players are starting to work together to fight back against their new common enemy, the tech-giants digitizing/disrupting the car industry.
